THRD Worldwide
Terms of Service & Community Safety Guidelines
Welcome to THRD Worldwide ("THRD," "we," "us," or "our").
THRD is a worldwide experience discovery platform designed to help people discover events, activities, local businesses, creative experiences, communities, and things to do wherever life takes them.
Our mission is simple: Less scrolling. More living.
We believe that discovering new experiences should feel exciting, accessible, and respectful. We are committed to building a community where Discoverers, Hosts, Curators, Businesses, and Creators can connect responsibly.
These Terms of Service establish the rules for using THRD, publishing experiences, interacting with other users, attending events, and participating in our community.
By accessing or using THRD, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
1. Who Can Use THRD
1.1. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, unless THRD expressly permits younger users through an approved, legally compliant process.
1.2. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your account information reasonably up to date.
1.3. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity conducted through your account, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
1.4. You must promptly notify THRD if you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization.
1.5. You may not impersonate another person, misrepresent a business, create fraudulent accounts, or use another person's identity without permission.
1.6. THRD reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, subject to applicable law.
2. How THRD Works
2.1. THRD helps users discover experiences and connect with the people and organizations behind them.
2.2. The platform may include:
- Events, workshops, classes, and gatherings.
- Wellness, fitness, arts, music, food, and cultural experiences.
- Travel inspiration, local recommendations, and destination-based discovery.
- Listings from businesses, event organizers, hosts, and creators.
- Event links, ticketing integrations, recommendations, and discovery tools.
- Community content, reviews, collections, and other features introduced over time.
2.3. THRD may provide discovery, promotion, recommendations, and connections. Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, THRD is not the organizer, operator, instructor, venue owner, or direct provider of third-party experiences.
2.4. THRD does not guarantee that every listing, host, attendee, business, creator, or review is authentic, accurate, safe, available, or suitable for every user.
2.5. We may review, verify, rank, recommend, remove, or restrict listings and accounts in accordance with our policies. Verification or platform approval is not a guarantee of safety, quality, legitimacy, or future conduct.
3. Community Standards
Every person using THRD is expected to contribute to a respectful and welcoming environment.
You agree to:
- Treat others with dignity and respect.
- Respect personal boundaries, consent, and individual differences.
- Communicate honestly about your identity, intentions, and offerings.
- Respect event rules, venue policies, and applicable laws.
- Avoid behaviour that threatens the safety, privacy, or wellbeing of others.
- Report credible safety concerns, suspected fraud, and serious policy violations.
THRD does not tolerate harassment, intimidation, discrimination, exploitation, or abuse.
We reserve the right to investigate reports and take appropriate action, including removing content, restricting listings, suspending accounts, or permanently banning users.
4. Harassment, Discrimination, and Misconduct
The following conduct is prohibited:
4.1. Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact.
4.2. Unwanted sexual attention, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, or sexual activity without freely given consent.
4.3. Discrimination, hateful conduct, or targeted abuse based on protected characteristics under applicable law.
4.4. Sharing intimate images, private conversations, personal information, or identifying information without authorization or another lawful basis.
4.5. Coercing, pressuring, manipulating, or threatening another person into attending an event, providing services, sharing personal information, engaging in physical contact, or participating in sexual activity.
4.6. Retaliating against someone for declining an invitation, setting a boundary, submitting a report, or cooperating with a safety investigation.
4.7. Misrepresenting an event as inclusive, accessible, professionally supervised, or otherwise protected when that representation is materially false.
THRD may take action whether misconduct occurs on the platform, through a THRD-related interaction, or at an experience discovered through THRD, where relevant to community safety.
5. Safety When Meeting in Person
Discovering experiences can lead to meaningful connections, but meeting people or attending unfamiliar events carries inherent risks.
5.1. Your personal safety matters. Use your judgment when deciding whether to attend an event, meet another user, or share information.
5.2. Consider meeting in public, established venues when appropriate, arranging your own transportation, informing someone you trust of your plans, and keeping your phone accessible.
5.3. Do not feel obligated to attend an event, remain at a venue, disclose personal information, or interact with anyone if you feel uncomfortable.
5.4. Respect the boundaries of other attendees. Consent must be voluntary, ongoing, and revocable.
5.5. Do not assume that a verified profile, paid listing, positive review, recommendation, or featured placement means a person or experience is risk-free.
5.6. If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or move to a safer location when possible. Do not rely on THRD as an emergency response service.
5.7. Report serious incidents to THRD as soon as reasonably possible, while recognizing that reports to THRD do not replace contacting emergency services, law enforcement, venue security, or other appropriate authorities.
6. Rules for Hosts, Curators, Businesses, and Creators
Anyone publishing, promoting, or representing an experience on THRD agrees to the following additional requirements.
6.1. Accurate listings. Provide truthful descriptions, dates, times, locations, prices, age restrictions, accessibility information, capacity limits, and material participation requirements.
6.2. Legitimate authority. You must have the necessary authority and permissions to publish, promote, sell tickets to, or organize the experience you list.
6.3. Required permits and qualifications. You are responsible for obtaining any licences, permits, insurance, certifications, professional qualifications, venue approvals, and other authorizations required by applicable law.
6.4. Reasonable safety precautions. Assess foreseeable risks associated with your activity and take reasonable steps to protect participants. This may include appropriate staffing, emergency procedures, equipment checks, first-aid arrangements, venue capacity management, and clear participant instructions.
6.5. Qualified instruction. If your experience involves fitness, wellness, medical services, outdoor activities, water activities, adventure sports, or other potentially hazardous activities, you must hold the qualifications and authorizations required for your role and location.
6.6. Transparent pricing. Clearly disclose mandatory charges, deposits, cancellation conditions, refund terms, and material restrictions before payment.
6.7. Respectful treatment. Do not discriminate unlawfully, exploit participants, pressure attendees into purchases, or engage in harassment or abuse.
6.8. No misleading claims. Do not make false claims about credentials, attendance, partnerships, endorsements, health outcomes, event safety, or THRD's involvement.
6.9. Changes and cancellations. Notify registered participants promptly of material changes, cancellations, venue changes, or safety concerns. Follow applicable consumer protection laws and your disclosed refund policy.
6.10. Incident response. Take participant concerns seriously, respond appropriately to safety incidents, cooperate with reasonable THRD investigations, and contact emergency services when warranted.
6.11. Insurance and responsibility. Maintain insurance where legally required or reasonably appropriate for your activity. You remain responsible for operating your event lawfully and safely.
6.12. No guarantee of approval. THRD may request additional information, decline an application, remove a listing, or suspend host privileges when reasonably necessary to protect the platform or its users.
7. Prohibited Listings and Activities
You may not use THRD to advertise, organize, facilitate, or promote:
- Illegal activities, scams, fraud, or deceptive business practices.
- Violence, threats, exploitation, human trafficking, or abuse.
- Sexual exploitation, non-consensual sexual activity, or unlawful sexual services.
- Activities involving controlled or prohibited substances in violation of applicable law.
- Weapons-related activities that violate applicable law or THRD policies.
- Unlicensed professional services where a licence is legally required.
- Dangerous activities that materially misrepresent their risks or lack required safety measures.
- Counterfeit goods, stolen property, or unauthorized ticket resale where prohibited.
- Content or activities that infringe intellectual property rights or violate another person's privacy.
- Fake events, fabricated reviews, manipulated engagement, or listings intended to collect money or personal information fraudulently.
THRD may remove or restrict other content or activities that reasonably pose a safety, legal, or community risk.
8. Content, Photos, Videos, and Reviews
8.1. You retain ownership of content you create, subject to the rights of other people and any third-party intellectual property rights.
8.2. By submitting content to THRD, you grant THRD a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and adapt that content as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, and improve the platform, in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
8.3. This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to THRD. Any use of content in separate commercial campaigns, endorsements, or advertising beyond the scope of operating and promoting THRD may require additional permission where applicable.
8.4. You must have the necessary rights and permissions to upload or publish photographs, videos, music, artwork, logos, testimonials, and other materials.
8.5. Do not photograph, record, or publish identifiable people in circumstances where doing so violates their privacy, applicable law, venue rules, or a reasonable expectation of privacy.
8.6. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. You may not purchase fake reviews, impersonate attendees, threaten someone to influence a review, or deliberately publish false allegations.
8.7. THRD may remove content that violates these Terms, infringes rights, creates a credible safety concern, or is otherwise subject to lawful removal.
9. Payments, Tickets, Cancellations, and Refunds
9.1. Some experiences may be free, while others may require payment, deposits, subscriptions, or third-party ticket purchases.
9.2. Before completing a transaction, review the applicable price, taxes, fees, event details, cancellation conditions, and refund policy.
9.3. Where payment is processed by a third-party ticketing provider or merchant, that provider's applicable terms and policies may also apply.
9.4. Hosts are responsible for honouring their disclosed cancellation and refund commitments and complying with applicable consumer protection laws.
9.5. THRD's responsibility for payment processing, refunds, or ticket fulfilment depends on the transaction structure and the services THRD actually provides. We will identify applicable platform policies where relevant.
9.6. Nothing in these Terms removes any consumer rights or refund entitlements that cannot legally be excluded.
9.7. THRD may investigate suspected fraudulent transactions, restrict suspicious listings, or suspend accounts associated with payment abuse.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
10.1. THRD will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
10.2. We may collect and use information necessary to provide accounts, personalize discovery, operate the platform, prevent fraud, manage reports, and improve our services, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
10.3. Do not share another person's phone number, home address, travel itinerary, live location, identification documents, private messages, or other sensitive information without an appropriate lawful basis.
10.4. Share only the personal information you are comfortable disclosing. Avoid publishing sensitive information publicly.
10.5. Hosts must collect, use, store, and disclose participant information only as permitted by applicable law and the relevant notices, permissions, and agreements.
10.6. THRD will not promise absolute confidentiality where disclosure is legally required or reasonably necessary to address serious safety concerns, fraud, or abuse, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.
10.7. Our Privacy Policy should separately explain data retention, account deletion, cookies and analytics, third-party integrations, cross-border processing, and how users may exercise their privacy rights.
11. Reporting, Moderation, and Safety Investigations
11.1. Users may report suspected violations through available in-app reporting tools or by contacting [insert THRD safety email address].
11.2. Reports should include relevant information such as the account or listing involved, a description of the concern, and supporting evidence where safely available.
11.3. THRD may review reports, request additional information, preserve relevant records where lawful, contact affected parties, restrict accounts or listings, and take other proportionate measures.
11.4. Depending on the circumstances, action may include:
- A warning or request to correct a listing.
- Temporary content or account restrictions.
- Removal of an event or profile.
- Suspension or permanent account termination.
- Restrictions on host or creator privileges.
- Referral to appropriate authorities when warranted and legally permitted or required.
11.5. THRD will assess reports based on available information. We may prioritize reports involving immediate danger, credible threats, sexual misconduct, exploitation, fraud, or risks to vulnerable people.
11.6. We cannot guarantee that every report will result in a particular outcome or that every violation will be detected.
11.7. Users must not knowingly submit false reports or retaliate against someone who raises a concern in good faith.
11.8. THRD will seek to handle reports with appropriate discretion, but cannot guarantee anonymity or confidentiality in every circumstance.
12. Verification and Trust
12.1. THRD may offer identity, business, credential, listing, or other verification processes.
12.2. Verification indicates only that specified checks were completed at a particular time and within a defined scope.
12.3. Verification does not constitute a guarantee of character, professional competence, financial reliability, event quality, or safety.
12.4. Hosts must not falsely claim to be verified, endorsed, certified, insured, or officially affiliated with THRD.
12.5. THRD may revoke verification or request updated documentation if information becomes inaccurate, expires, or raises legitimate concerns.
13. Third-Party Services and External Links
13.1. THRD may link to external websites, ticketing services, venues, travel providers, social media accounts, payment processors, and other third-party services.
13.2. Those services may operate under their own terms, privacy policies, and security practices.
13.3. THRD does not control every third-party website or service and is not responsible for content or services it does not operate, except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
13.4. Review external terms before completing a purchase, providing personal information, or agreeing to participate in an activity.
14. Account Suspension and Termination
14.1. You may stop using THRD at any time and request account deletion through the available account settings or support process.
14.2. THRD may suspend, restrict, remove content from, or terminate an account when reasonably necessary to address violations, fraud, security threats, legal obligations, or serious risks to the community.
14.3. Where appropriate and reasonably practicable, THRD may provide notice of a restriction and an opportunity to respond or appeal. Immediate action may be taken when necessary to address urgent risks.
14.4. Account termination does not eliminate outstanding payment obligations, lawful record-retention requirements, or rights and responsibilities that accrued before termination.
14.5. We will handle account deletion requests and associated information in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
15. Intellectual Property
15.1. THRD and its associated branding, software, design, original materials, and platform features are owned by THRD or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
15.2. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer, exploit, or create derivative works from protected THRD materials except as permitted by law or with prior written authorization.
15.3. You may not use THRD's name, logo, or branding in a way that falsely implies sponsorship, endorsement, or official affiliation.
15.4. If you believe content on THRD infringes your intellectual property rights, contact [insert intellectual property contact email] with sufficient details to identify the material and substantiate your concern.
16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
16.1. THRD is provided on an "as available" basis, subject to applicable law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or the availability or suitability of any particular experience.
16.2. THRD is a discovery and connection platform. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, we do not independently operate, supervise, or control every listed event, host, venue, or participant.
16.3. Participation in real-world experiences may involve risks, including injury, illness, property damage, transportation risks, environmental hazards, and interactions with other people. Users should assess these risks and take reasonable precautions.
16.4. To the extent permitted by applicable law, THRD disclaims implied warranties and limits its liability for losses arising from third-party conduct, events, listings, or services outside its control.
16.5. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence where such exclusion is prohibited, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
16.6. Any limitation of liability, exclusion of damages, or allocation of risk under these Terms applies only to the extent permitted by the laws applicable to the relevant claim.
16.7. These Terms do not relieve THRD of its own legal obligations or prevent users from exercising rights that applicable law protects.
17. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, users who act as hosts, businesses, creators, or organizers agree to be responsible for third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal costs arising from their unlawful conduct, breach of these Terms, infringement of another person's rights, or negligent operation of an experience.
Any indemnification obligation will be interpreted subject to applicable law and will not require a user to indemnify THRD for THRD's own negligence, misconduct, or other liability where such allocation is prohibited.
18. Changes to These Terms
THRD may update these Terms as the platform, applicable laws, or safety requirements evolve.
Where material changes are made, we will provide notice through the platform, by email, or through another reasonable method when required by law.
The updated Terms will identify the revised effective date. Where applicable law requires renewed consent, we will obtain it before applying the relevant changes.
Your continued use of THRD after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance only where such acceptance is legally valid.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without displacing mandatory protections or rights available under the laws of another jurisdiction.
Subject to applicable law, disputes may be brought before the courts with appropriate jurisdiction in Ontario.
Nothing in this section prevents a consumer from exercising mandatory rights or pursuing a claim in a forum where applicable law permits it.
20. General Provisions
20.1. Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any applicable policies or additional agreements expressly incorporated into them, govern your use of THRD.
20.2. Severability. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally permitted.
20.3. No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision does not necessarily waive the right to enforce it later.
20.4. Assignment. Users may not transfer their rights or obligations under these Terms in a manner that violates applicable law. THRD may transfer its rights and obligations as part of a lawful business reorganization or transaction.
20.5. Language. If THRD publishes translations of these Terms, the applicable version and treatment of discrepancies will be determined in accordance with applicable law.
